Virgin Holidays launches 300 exciting activities for USA and Canada holidays – including Top Gun flights and submarine rides

There’s something for everyone from foodies to thrill-seekers…

If you’ve been considering a holiday to the USA or Canada , then Virgin Holidays ‚ latest offering is going to be of serious interest!

In what marks one of the biggest launches for the brand in years, Virgin has just unveiled a whole host of new exciting experiences for their North America holiday packages – 300 activities, to be exact.

Holidaymakers will be able to handpick the experiences they want to add to their holidays, to make for a bespoke, once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Think street food tours, helicopter rides, zip-lining, snorkelling, jet pack experiences, surf lessons, twilight tours… the list goes on and on!

There’s even a Top Gun -inspired air combat experience in Vegas where you climb on board a stunt plane and can channel your inner Tom Cruise by learning basic low-level moves including loops, rolls and stalls!

The best part is, there are so many North America hotspots included in the new venture, so you really can curate your own holiday wherever you’re going; San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Hawaii, Nashville, Toronto and Vancouver to name a few.

1. Whistler Zipline Adventure – Bear Tour

Forget sitting quietly waiting for a glimpse of grizzlies – this legendary tour is actually a thrilling zipline course between two mountains!

Adrenaline junkies can fly above the forest of Fitzsimmons Creek across the five ziplines, with plenty of fun facts thrown in between rides so you can also learn a bit about the breathtaking landscape.

How much? £78 per person for the three-hour session.

2. Molokini and Turtle Arches Snorkelling Trip

Explore the extinct volcano of Molokoni in Maui, where over 250 species of fish live amongst the colourful coral reefs – not to mention there are beautiful Turtle Arches where you can meet sea turtles and check out underwater lava formations!

Plus, the experience includes the equipment, snorkel training, breakfast and lunch, and even a complimentary Mai Tai!

3. Flyboard or Jetpack Experience at Lake Las Vegas

You’ll feel like superhero/spy in this exhilarating ride where you don a personal jetpack and hover above the ocean surface. The pack uses high-pressure water jets to let you hover – and it can reach up to three storeys high! (You’ll get training before, of course).

How much? From £80 per person. Choose between a 15, 25 or 40-minute flight.

4. Victoria Whale Watching by Orca Spirit Zodiac Boat or Covered Boat

This thrilling whale experience in Canada offers a chance to spot orcas, minke, grey whales, porpoises, harbour seals and plenty more marine life.

Plus, for a touch of extra excitement, you’ll don a full-length cruiser suit and shoot along 80km of coastline in three hours – and there’ll be an onboard marine biologist and naturalist to share some interesting facts about the beautiful sea creatures.

Want something a bit more low-key? Then opt for the 14-metre ocean cruiser for a calmer whale watching experience.

5. Grand Voyager Helicopter Tour in Las Vegas

For a once-in-a-lifetime sightseeing trip, the Grand Voyager promises a very cool experience. Flying out of Boulder City in Nevada by airplane over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, you’ll be transferred to a helicopter at West Rim, to take you on a journey high above the Colorado River.

Next on the itinerary? A stop at Eagle Point, Guano Point, or the re-creation of a Wild West town at Hualapai Ranch (complete with cowboys).

6. Columbia Icefield Tour including the Skywalk from Banff

Discover the best of the Columbia Icefield on this full-day tour from Banff. You’ll be driven across the iconic Icefield Parkway with stops along Lake Louise, Crowfoot Glacier and Peyto Lake, not to mention there’ll be an all-terrain ride across the amazing Columbia Icefields.

Oh, and you’ll finish with pectacular views over Sunwapta Valley as you take on the Glacier Skywalk!

7. Atlantis Kona Submarine Adventure in Hawaii

You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a spy movie in this real-life submarine, which holds up to 48 people.
